The IDN Professional Pathway is a completely inclusive 6 year route to professional competence which perceives time spent in both education and experience. After finishing the Pathway, a candidate can become an IDN Registered Interior Designer.

During the time of working practice, candidates on the Pathway complete the IDN Development Diaries where they record their own professional development, against a set of openly defined competencies. The Pathway will implement the designer to take responsibility for their own development, while being guided through the process via a range of support such as mentoring, live events and online learning.
