INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS – 2023

With each New Year come new interior design trends and fads to consider and even reconsider so you can update your home with confidence and ease.
Make 2023 all about creating functional layers and meaningful spaces that reflect you and your family!
Here is a look at some of the latest home decor trends that you can incorporate into your home without needing to completely renovate your home.

STATEMENT LIGHTING

Statement lighting is lighting that serves as a focal point rather than fading into the background. The larger the scale of the statement light, the better! There is a practical purpose for nearly every element in one’s home. However, that doesn’t mean a lighting fixture should be subtle or go unnoticed. Contrary to popular belief, statement lighting ideas come in all shapes, sizes, and styles. A petite table lamp can add just as much visual interest as a trio of pendant lights.

There are endless ways you can use lamps to either contribute to your interior design or to become one of its main features of it. Before you start considering which types of lighting you’d like to install in your interior, give some thought to the mood you’d like to establish in each room, and any other objectives you have for those rooms. That should help to guide your choice in coming up with appropriate lighting for your interior design.

DARK ACADEMIA

“Dark academia” refers to a visual style that is meant to be both mood and atmosphere. Dark Academia is an aesthetic that revolves around literature, academics, mystery, and arts. It is heavily inspired by Gothic architecture, history, Greek Arts, and Dark elements. The color scheme for this aesthetic comprises – dark moody, neutral, beige, and brown colors. So the goal is to bring in a lot of neutral to dark tones in the room and create a moody vibe.

SUSTAINABILITY AND ECO-FRIENDLINESS

With an increasing focus on sustainability and the environment, interior design trends are expected to become more eco-friendly and sustainable in the future. The use of recycled and natural materials, energy-efficient lighting, and sustainable furniture are predicted to become more popular.

MUTED COLORS

Muted interior schemes truly allow for a fabulous array of combinations. Whether creating a chic look through a similar range of neutral tones or adding counterpoints through brighter splashes of color, you can really play and have fun Rather than seeing this time of year as gloomy and drab, these softened shades (beiges, creams, and grays) can be celebrated and employed to create a fabulous and warming scheme.

MINIMALISM

In recent years, minimalism has become one of the most popular design trends. Characterize by clean lines, simple shapes, and a lack of clutter. Minimalism has a calming effect that can be particularly appealing in today’s fast-paced world. What’s more, minimalism is also highly versatile, working well in both small and large spaces. As a result, it’s no surprise that many people are choosing to incorporate minimalism into their homes. While some design trends come and go quickly, it seems likely that minimalism will continue to be popular for years to come.

ORGANIC MATERIAL AND SHAPE

By incorporating organic shapes into your home, you will create a sense of softness and movement in your space. The more irregular the shape, the more movement it will show. More disarrangement also means it will portray more natural and organic, similar to the organisms we can find in nature. More natural shapes rather than precise lines will also give a greater sense of creativity and freedom that can be used to affect greater creativity in your home or designated creative space.

OPEN FLOOR PLANS

Open floor plan design has become increasingly popular, and for a good reason. Whether you live in a small starter home or a sprawling estate, an open floor plan design can be a great way to make the most of your space. For that reason, this type of layout is ideal for, more or less, anyone.

Open floor plan design eliminates the need to use walls or partitions, making your home feel much airier and more inviting. It conveys the feeling of spaciousness by making living areas flow into each other. In an open floor plan layout, the kitchen, dining room, and living room are typically connected with no walls in between.
