ASIAN INTERIOR DESIGN STYLE

Asian interior design style, sometimes called Oriental design. Some room designs are true to one style, while many Asian themed rooms are a combination of two or more cultural influences. The most recognizable design styles are Chinese and Japanese. Asian designs and themes are largely inspired by the colors of nature, and often decorations mimic scenic landscapes and reinterpret natural colors to suit the interior.

Asian-style interiors instantly evoke an image of serenity and tranquil calm. With most of us engrossed in a fast-paced urban lifestyle, it helps immensely when we can come back home to a peaceful abode that allows us to escape this never-ending rush.  But creating an Asian-inspired room is much more than just adding a few distinct decorations. It takes care, precision and a clear thought process that allows you to do away with the unwanted additions.

Tips To Create an Asian-Inspired Interior

An authentic style that’s slowly finding its way into modern interior design, Asian-inspired decor is genuine for it radiates with a special kind of peace and tranquility.

Here is how you can incorporate some of these mesmerizing elements into your own home design while keeping the fresh, contemporary vibe intact –

1.     A Touch of Lively Colors

Some may say that Asian styles lack strong and vivid tones, but that’s very far from the truth. A bright accent mixed with a neutral backdrop is a design that is always included when incorporating an Asian-themed interior.

The Oriental style can’t do without accents of pink or cherry blossoms, luxurious purples or ravishing reds as they’re also a big part of Chinese-inspired decorating styles. You can use subtle black hues to enhance the mystic vibe of the room, or even elegant golden tones complemented with a subtle neutral background.

This combination is bound to give you a feeling of freshness and content. Gold is also very popular lately, so it’s a good choice, whatever style you prefer.

2.  Visual and Textural Balance

Balance is a very important part of the Asian style; it is a recurring theme in most choices of the oriental design type. When talking about balance, you need to pay attention when choosing the colors and the textures for your room.

They have to be combined in a way that will harmonize the surrounding and highlights the balance. If your home is just one big block of concrete, think about adding glass partitions, natural stone decorations, wooden floors, bamboo blinds and a few organic textures in a poised fashion.

3.    Print the Walls Correctly

You can try silk pictures to achieve a state of piece as those kinds of painting use many colors to create beautiful detailed pictures. Wallpapers that are inspired by silk paintings are being used more and more and bring a kind of authenticity to any homeowner’s space.

4.   A Part of Nature

It’s not just the decorating – the whole ambient should be Asian inspired. You can use scented candles, sandalwood incense and even wind chimes; these are sure to really get into the whole Oriental vibe you want to emit.

Add to this a few potted plants and shrubs that bring in nature’s goodness and you will instantly notice the transformation of the modern home into a comforting and serene hub.

It’s not just the visuals – paying attention to the scent and the sounds of the room is a key factor when creating the perfect ambient for you and your guests.

5.     The Perfect Backdrop

Asian designs and themes are largely inspired by the colors of nature, and often decorations mimic scenic landscapes and reinterpret natural colors to suit the interior. Hence, it is best to keep the backdrop as neutral as possible. That doesn’t mean white is your only option. Gentle cream, understated light blues and even an elegant grey work just fine. Remember that you are going for a soothing backdrop that offers a relaxed and laid-back ambiance.

6.      Sculptural Lighting and Paper Lanterns

Lighting can make or break the look of your interior, regardless of the theme you have going. But in the case of Asian style, it adds to the entire visual and elegantly accentuates the theme. Stylish hanging paper lanterns, sculptural lighting installations and a few carefully placed candles go a long way in creating a home inspired by the Far East!

7.     Embrace Tranquility

As it is one of the most memorable signs of the Asian design, tranquility is important for keeping your space peaceful and enhancing its overall aesthetic.

Neutral tones go well with soft lighting like paper lanterns as well as natural textiles like bamboo bed. These elements, with a touch of carefully chosen Asian-inspired decor could achieve a full ambient.

  1. True the use of lively color is so important for the overall interior. I have seen people choosing dark colors without considering their impact on the mood, little do they know that colors do have positive and negative vibes that affect our behavior.
